Deliberate self-poisoning with drugs among adolescents in Morocco

Introduction: Suicide is a serious public health problem and one of the leading causes adolescent death in world. The aim this study to determine epidemiological profile suicidal poisoning with drugs among adolescents Morocco. Methods: This retrospective deliberate self-poisoning cases, reported Moroccan Poison Control Center between 1980 2014. Results: A total 3,856 cases 15 19 years old were recorded, 13 successful suicide 41 repeated attempts. average age patients was 15.5 years. According results, 84.7% female female-male ratio 5.5. majority occurred at home (97.8%). signs symptoms presented by varied, depending on amount drug ingested delay before treatment. Conclusion: attempts children continue be major problem, topical research surveys have clearly highlighted as commonest young people.
